Duties and Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures and operate under direct supervision. Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort. Select and set up instruments, equipment, and material needed. Sterilize instruments according to regulations. Lead patients through pre- and post-treatment care instructions. Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions. Maintain accurate patient records and assist with scheduling of follow-up appointments. Take X-rays and dental impressions. Manage inventory of supplies and equipment. Uphold a clean and sterile working environment in accordance with current regulations. Perform administrative tasks such as billing and maintaining treatment records. Ensure implementation of office protocols and safety policies. Participate actively in team meetings and training sessions. Requirements Certification or degree from an accredited dental assisting school. Proven experience as a dental assistant. In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g., HIPAA). Excellent understanding of dental instruments and sterilization methods. Effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate detailed and relevant dental information to patients effectively. Strong computer skills and proficiency in using healthcare software and applications. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Compassionate and able to handle patients with anxiety or fear. Detail-oriented with an aptitude for problem-solving. Capability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
