Overview The Clinical Services Technician collects pathology specimens at free standing Ambulatory Care Centers. Responsibilities include registration, processing, and allocation of laboratory specimens and orders from all sources; verification of proper patient/specimen identification and order appropriateness; organization of laboratory workflow and prioritization of specimen preparation for transport; maintaining a clean and orderly work environment and appropriate supply levels; utilization of requisite equipment and computer systems to request, accession, label, and package specimens; performing POCT and documenting routine maintenance and quality control procedures; managing patient wait times and expectations through clear communication; demonstrating service excellence by acknowledging customers in a friendly manner and showing pride in appearance and behavior; updating knowledge and skills as needed; maintaining age‑specific and other required competencies; working independently or as part of a team with periodic review by supervisory staff; and performing other duties as assigned.
