Overview Full Time Shift: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10:30 pm - 7:00 am
Pay Range: $17.50-$21.50 Based on experience with Mileage reimbursement!
The Mobile Phlebotomist, under the general supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, provides clinical pre-analytical laboratory services to clients/patients in a mobile setting. They are responsible for completing assigned routes safely and in a timely manner and must follow all policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Drive vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed by the company dispatcher.
Unload phlebotomy tray and take to patient’s bedside to collect samples ordered by physician.
Identify patients before collecting specimens and accurately collect, label, process, and deliver specimens.
Reload equipment and all necessary specimens to the vehicle for prompt delivery.
Communicate regularly with dispatcher to report status and location, and create required records per instructions.
Adhere to Universal Precautions to control blood-borne pathogens and infectious disease exposures.
Maintain required certifications, health requirements, and operational requirements; keep work area clean.
Follow safety precautions at all times and report unsafe conditions or complaints/problems encountered.
Monitor supplies inventory and report low stock or out-of-stock situations; identify and segregate expired supplies.
Report to work promptly, be properly groomed, and wear proper identification when visiting facilities.
Accurately maintain time records of hours worked and deliver as directed; manage assigned shift to include meal breaks.
Follow all specimen preservation, patient preparation, and specimen management processes as written without personal deviation and use approved documents.
Perform records changes only per approved instructions; may require on-call evenings and weekends as needed based on workload.
Qualifications
Current, valid state phlebotomy license (if required).
Current, valid state driver’s license; car insurance; good driving record; vehicle in good working condition.
Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using both vacutainer and syringe techniques.
Knowledge of laboratory operations; maintains sterile, sanitary conditions to prevent contamination.
Excellent communication and interaction skills, including with pediatric and geriatric populations; treats patients with respect and dignity; respects patient rights to refuse.
Regular attendance; technical/training (preferred); licenses & certifications as required.
Skills in customer service, communication, and computer skills (preferred).

The work environment is typical of a medical laboratory setting with potential health hazards. Employees must safely operate in accordance with health and safety policies and use Personal Protective Equipment. Associates work in all weather and driving conditions.
