Your Impact
Pearce/Unified is seeking a Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Field Engineer) to directly support customers in onsite preventive, corrective, and restorative maintenance of critical power systems (UPS, DC systems, inverters, PDUs, STS, and standalone reserve battery technologies).
Core Responsibilities
Install electrical equipment such as rack‑mounted UPS equipment, batteries, and UPS/Battery monitoring equipment.
Maintain battery cabinets and racks, bypass, monitoring equipment, DC systems, and other electrical equipment.
Perform remedial services, including failure analysis and troubleshooting, component replacements and repairs, and battery string replacements and installations.
Provide excellent customer service and upsell products.
Resolve field troubleshooting calls from customers to satisfactory resolution.
Respond quickly to critical situations.
Teach and mentor crew members on proper techniques for site work, troubleshooting, repair, and data analysis.
Isolate basic hardware, software, and interface malfunctions using test equipment on multiple products and technologies.
Core Experience
Minimum of three (3) years serving in a third‑party critical power field service or technical support role with demonstrated progression in technical proficiency, or
Minimum of five (5) years serving in an OEM service environment in the critical power space.
Prior military training in electronics or avionics (preferred).
Good understanding of AC/DC electrical principles.
Knowledge of test equipment operation, such as multimeters and battery test equipment.
Ability to read and interpret electronics schematics and troubleshoot failures to component level.
Experience enforcing compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations and standards.
Outstanding work ethic, punctuality, trustworthiness, and reliability.
Good judgment with ability to make timely decisions within fast‑paced changing priorities.
Physical/Work Environment
Must comply with OSHA and applicable DOT standards.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (if driving a company vehicle); pass pre‑employment drug screen.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs for short durations.
Ability to kneel or crouch periodically.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to travel for multiple days with per diem as projects require.
Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining 100% safety awareness.
Lifting heavy objects and stretching above head.
Compensation and Benefits
Base Pay Range: $25 USD - $40 USD per hour.
