General Description Performs data analysis work involving conducting extensive data research and analyzing and reporting the results. Performs complex data analysis and data research work. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Identifies data gaps, errors, anomalies, inconsistencies, and redundancies by analyzing the content, structure, and relationships within data. Examples of Work Performed Reporting, report building, data cleaning, dashboard creation, KPI’s, visualizations, and financial data analysis. Collects, queries, and analyzes data using standard statistical tools, applications, methods, and techniques. Interprets data analysis results to identify significant differences and trends in data to inform decisions. Consults with internal and external customers to identify data analytics needs. Creates data visualizations to represent the data. Cleans and prunes data to discard irrelevant information. Responds to time sensitive ad-hoc record requests. Identifies and interprets data patterns and trends and assess data quality. Prepares concise, comprehensive technical reports to present and interpret data, identify alternatives, and make and justify recommendations on data revisions. Establishes and maintains standard work procedures governing the appropriate use of data. Guides the selection of data management tools and the development of standards, usage guidelines, and procedures for those tools. Defines, develops, and implements data and reporting standards. Develops data quality measures, analyzes data quality results, and implements necessary changes to ensure data quality improvement. Develops software applications or programming to use for statistical modeling, data analysis, and graphic analysis. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education and Experience: Experience in data analysis, research, compilation, and/or reporting work. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in data science, business analytics, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field is generally preferred. An advanced degree may substitute for two years of required experience. At least four (4) years of relevant work experience that was primarily data analysis, data compilation and reporting. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: · Knowledge of statistics and analyzing data sets; running queries, report writing, and presenting findings; and record keeping, including security procedures for handling, protecting, and distributing confidential data. · Skill in the use of computers and applicable software, in conducting data searches, in evaluating and translating large amounts of data, and in critical thinking. · Ability to compile, review, and analyze data; to prepare reports; to maintain accuracy and attention to detail; and to communicate effectively. · Knowledge of data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques. · Skill in analyzing problems and devising effective solutions. · Strong SQL database query skills · Ability to utilize data visualization tools · Ability to find patterns in data and interpret data · Ability to prep and clean data · Experience with data management and data quality tools · Strong communication skills · Problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills Preferred Education and Experience: Knowledge of legal restrictions governing allocation of funds. Advanced knowledge of presenting information visually. Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of CAPPS, Power BI, Microsoft 365 tools, and Business Objects. Physical Requirements · Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods throughout the day. · Minimal physical exertion beyond basic office tasks with occasional travel (approximately 5% travel). · Consistent use of office equipment, such as computers, phones, printers, and database systems. · Adequate hand-eye coordination for typing, computer use, and document review. · Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently including data entry and record review. · Basic mobility for occasional walking within the office and travel to field locations.
