About the Role & What You’ll Be Doing
As a Data Annotation Analyst at Alaffia Health, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our medical claims data. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that claim billing information is accurately reviewed, entered, updated, and processed through our internal systems. This role is essential for maintaining compliance with internal protocols and regulatory standards, contributing directly to the efficiency and effectiveness of our bill review processes. You’ll be responsible for accurately inputting and updating claim information, collaborating closely with our Engineering team, and ensuring high‑quality data standards are upheld throughout the process.
Your Responsibilities
Accurately input and update patient billing information, including personal details, treatment codes, insurance information, and billing amounts into the company's data systems.
Efficiently and accurately shepherd data through various internal pipelines and applications.
Review and verify data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with the data entry specialist team to resolve discrepancies and ensure that billing records are accurate and complete.
Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to gather required information and clarify billing details as necessary.
Perform regular audits of billing records to identify and correct errors.
Assist in the development and implementation of data management procedures to improve data quality and efficiency.
Generate reports and provide data‑related support to other departments as needed.
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology, Finance, or related field preferred.
Proven experience as a data entry specialist, preferably in the healthcare sector dealing with medical billing or health information management.
Proficient in data entry with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Familiarity with medical terminology, billing codes (ICD‑10, CPT, etc.), and healthcare billing procedures and formats (UB‑04, CMS1500, etc.) preferred.
Strong computer skills. Proficiency in MS Office and experience with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues.
Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and security of sensitive patient information.
