The Moxy Team is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Manager who will provide general HR support to the hotel's operational team and successfully administer and manage all areas of human resources. The Human Resources Manager will deliver excellence in guest service by overseeing the selection, onboarding, development, and guidance of leaders and team members. This role will be supporting 2 properties, located in Lower Manhattan.
Essential Job Functions
Recruitment and staffing of all hourly and management positions
Onboarding of new associates into the HR/Payroll system and all new hire paperwork
Ensure associate development through the utilization of the MDP (Management Development Program), with the support and direction of Corporate
Administer and monitor all training programs, as well as lead training classes
Monitor associate performance appraisal programs to ensure reviews are timely and set goals are measurable and attainable
Property Payroll Administration
Conduct property Orientation for all new hires and required brand training
Property contact for Insurance/Liability issues (guest incidents, accidents, OSHA recordable, etc.)
Manage all labor relations activities by ensuring compliance with all state and federal statutory requirements and company policy.
Provide guidance and counseling to all associates and managers to maximize the quality and professionalism of the hotel
Oversee all wage and benefits administration to ensure accuracy
Maintain all hotel associate and Human Resources files to ensure confidentiality where necessary; Ensure all necessary federal, state, and company/Brand required documentation are maintained in the files
Direct and administer associate relations programs and activities such as associate recognition and service award celebrations, social functions, and general hotel meetings to maintain a positive employee relations climate
Planning and execution of associate special events
Maintain constant communication with departments to ensure a constant Human Resources presence
Responsible for understanding and following all Brand audit standards applicable to Human Resources
Execution of yearly associate survey in alignment with the Corporate office
Other duties as assigned by the Area Human Resources Director
Essential Qualifications
Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
Strong leadership and relationship building skills
Technologically sound with Microsoft Office applications
Ability to satisfactorily communicate in verbal and written English with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding
Prioritize and organize work assignments, and have timely follow-up and execution
Have superb time management skills
Knowledge of safety initiatives in compliance with OSHA guidelines
Planning and organizational ability
Ability to exercise considerable managerial skills, as the position may involve frequent decisions, meeting of deadlines, analytical ability and planning, and organizational development
Requirements
Required to work on-site 5 days a week
Must be able to effectively work with very little or no supervision
Must be a leader, a driver, and a bottom-line oriented
BS or BA in Hotel Administration, Management, or HR a plus
3+ years of Hotel Human Resources experience and at least one-year experience in a management role are a plus
Dynamite leadership skills
Proven ability to lead others
Compensation: $66,300
