Accounting Associate ROK Financial, a top ten commercial loan brokerage in Great River, New York, is hiring for an Accounting Associate. We’re seeking a reliable, detail-oriented candidate who can work independently and collaboratively. This role involves hands‑on participation in the monthly and annual close process for multiple entities, along with maintaining financial records as requested by the Controller. We are looking for a motivated self‑starter eager to advance their career. This position offers growth potential into a supervisory role, assisting the Controller in overseeing the accounting department while providing administrative, technical support, and supervision to the accounting staff. Duties & Responsibilities Maintain the general ledger through the regular processing of bank feeds in QuickBooks Online. Verify deposits and update accounting and CRM software for multiple entities. Assist the Controller with payroll preparation and processing. Reconcile cash disbursement and customer accounts, including monitoring and updating customer balances within our CRM. Process and monitor accounts receivable, including processing credit card payments through a payment platform and updating all related reporting. Process ACH and wire transactions through online banking portal. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills & Abilities Proactive and self‑motivated with the ability to work independently. Strong multitasking skills, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Solid understanding of general financial accounting principles. Experience in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) or similar accounting software. Advanced Excel skills; experience with Google Sheets is a plus. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience in accounting or business administration. Preferred Qualifications Proven experience in corporate accounting or a similar role is preferred; experience in a fast‑paced or multi‑entity environment is a plus. Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the ability to present financial data clearly and concisely. Strong understanding of internal control processes to safeguard assets, ensure financial accuracy, and support audit compliance. Experience with process improvement is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
