SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Accounting Manager will report to the Controller, and as such, will learn the role of the Controller.
The Accounting Manager is responsible for reporting and oversight of the Finance Department, including Accounts Payable, timely financial reporting, treasury operations, fixed asset accounting, closing process, reporting needs and year end functions. This individual will work directly with Leadership to ensure the timely and accurate communication of financial information to allow for timely decisions throughout the organization.
Essential Functions (Job Duties)
Assist the Controller in management and integrity of the financial records
Help Controller lead, mentor, develop and evaluate staff in a manner that promotes engagement, productivity, and ensures competencies.
Conduct individual and team goal setting, performance planning and evaluation
Along with Controller, mentor staff to increase critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis.
Provide oversight to staff members completing Accounts Payable and Cash Receipts functions within the Finance Department. Provide guidance and training in all aspects of general accounting as necessary.
Review and approve daily expenses prior to entry into accounting software.
Compile and/or review month-end work papers.
Produce monthly Functional Board Report. Provide analytics for expense categories as requested.
Work with Senior Finance staff to produce financials for audit and required information for State Report Filing and discussing/reviewing day to day operations.
Assist with annual budget process.
Collaborates with colleagues in Revenue Cycle and Operations departments
Assists and partners with Controller to be a thought partner regarding financial matters
Coordinate and work with others in Finance Department to ensure coverage of responsibilities.
Various treasury/accounting duties as required to support the overall accounting functions.
Assist with year-end financial statement audit preparation work papers
Standards

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, on-site, position. 40 hours per week.
Workweek schedule: Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00-4:00pm
Hours and schedules may vary depending on Company need and workload. Employees will be given as much advance notice as possible when such changes occur.
Required Education and Experience
Associate’s degree and 3 years of experience. Bachelors degree and 1 year of supervisory experience preferred, or combination of education and experience.
