Legal Secretary, Civil Litigation (Sacramento/Folsom, CA) – Hybrid
Join CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insurer, as a Civil Litigation Legal Secretary supporting two attorneys in a hybrid role based in Sacramento/Folsom, CA.
Pay Range
Base: $62,460 – $69,400 per year.
This role also offers a discretionary bonus of up to 5% of eligible pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities
Type correspondence and various legal documents and forms.
Draft documents and correspondence.
Organize and maintain files related to current cases, emphasizing electronic filing, e‑filing with courts, dockets, calendars, legal appearances and filing deadlines.
Provide administrative support for depositions, medical examinations, court and arbitration hearings, and work with retained experts.
Manage in a strictly electronic environment using Electronic Legal Management systems such as e‑Docs (preferred) and Team Connect (preferred). Skilled in Microsoft Office 365, Teams, OneDrive, Adobe PDF manipulation.
Understand California court venue and local rules, and e‑filing process with various California courts.
Qualifications
2–5 years of experience as a legal secretary, with 2–5 years of civil litigation secretarial experience.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of legal terminology and proper formats for legal documents, procedures, and editing.
Strong multitasking, prioritization, and attention to detail.
Proficient PC skills and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to handle and respond to sensitive and confidential information.
Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
Ability to file using an alphanumeric system.
Preferred
Experience with legal software applications such as Team Connect, e‑Docs, etc.
Knowledge of practice areas and legal procedures; trial experience.
Active participation in employee resource groups, volunteer activities, or similar cultural engagement.
Willingness to travel for role as needed.
Flexibility to invest extra time or support other teams when business needs arise.
