Summary
We are seeking a qualified and caring Registered Dental Assistant to join our team! As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will provide top-notch dental care that makes our clients feel like family. Our Hygienist works with a dedicated hygienist assistant that handles the operatory set-up, cleanup, and most of the data entry. The ideal candidate is state-licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and has at least two years of experience. Responsibilities
Dental Hygienist performs thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages, including pediatrics
Assess and document patients' oral health status, including medical records and treatment plans
Dental Hygienist perform periodontal ScRP or debridement where indicated in diseased areas
Utilize our dental software (Eaglesoft) for patient documentation and scheduling
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits
Dental Hygienist occasionally assist the dentist during procedures as needed, demonstrating proficiency in dental assisting tasks when a hygienist assistant is not available
Maintain aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and clean environment for both patients and staff
Review documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
The Dental Hygienist stay updated on medical terminology relevant to dentistry to effectively communicate with patients and team members
Qualifications
Valid dental hygiene license in NY State
Experience with medical records management is preferred
Familiarity with Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar dental software
Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and medical terminology is essential
Previous experience in pediatric dentistry is advantageous but not required
Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and comfort
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated
