Damar is looking for a talented and motivated Phlebotomist to join our team. The Phlebotomist is assigned to our Damar Health Services Clinic and our Children’s Residential Campus on the southwest side of Indianapolis. This person is responsible for safely and accurately collecting blood samples from patients while providing a calm, supportive experience—especially for children and individuals with developmental disabilities. They work closely with clinical staff to ensure proper specimen handling, documentation, and infection control, while communicating clearly and compassionately with patients and families.

Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws following safety and infection-control protocols
Provide a calm, patient-centered experience for children and individuals with developmental disabilities
Properly label, document, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
Communicate effectively with nurses, providers, and families regarding procedures and results
Maintain equipment, supplies, and a clean, organized clinical environment
Interact professionally with parents, school, medical personnel, and other stakeholders with professionalism and the highest levels of interpersonal and customer service skills
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program preferred
Current phlebotomy certification
Previous experience performing venipuncture and capillary sticks, preferably in a pediatric or clinical setting
Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR.02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.
Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
Successful completion of pre-employment physical required

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35 lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
