Phlebotomy - Phlebotomist II - 1st Shift Duration: 6+ months Location: Martinsburg WV 25401 Shift: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm Summary The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients who come in for health routine or life‑defining health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and follows established practices and procedures. The PSR II has direct contact with patients, creating a trustworthy atmosphere, explaining procedures, and collecting blood specimens skillfully, safely, and accurately. The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, sensitivity to confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor’s office, a patient service center, or other business locations dictated by needs. Responsibilities Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time. Maintain a safe and professional environment. Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices. Verify patient demographic information; initials, patient signature, and correct labeling of tubes. Maintain required records and documentation. Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public. Job Requirements Provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment. Work independently with minimal on‑site supervision. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric techniques. Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime. Commitment to all policies & procedures, including dress code, health & safety, and guiding principles. Make decisions based on established procedures and exhibit sound judgment. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable). Travel and flexible hours to cover multiple locations, including Patient Service Center and in‑office phlebotomy sites with minimal notice. Handle multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting. Demonstrate superior customer focus, transparent communication, and an embrace of change. Training Training locations may vary based on trainer availability. Required Education High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington. Work Experience Three years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience.
