Job Summary
The position reports to the Facilities Manager. The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all buildings, equipment, and grounds. This role performs preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and basic custodial tasks to ensure a clean, functional, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and the community.
Essential Job Duties
General Maintenance & Repairs
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
Troubleshoot and resolve facility issues in a timely and professional manner.
Complete safety and functionality inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems.
Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of fixtures, furniture, and appliances.
Execute preventive maintenance schedules on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Document all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs accurately.
Maintain cleanliness and order in maintenance areas, storage rooms, and mechanical spaces.
Support groundskeeping tasks, including lawn care, trimming, snow/ice removal (if applicable), and general outdoor upkeep.
Assist with event setup, teardown, and facility needs as required.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and organizational policies.
Report hazards, safety concerns, and major maintenance needs promptly.
Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Training: High School Diploma or GED acceptable to Texas Education Agency.
Experience: Two (2) years of related full experience. Experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC or carpentry.
Working Conditions
All employees of the Parish are engaged in ministry and closely tied to the Pastor in the exercise of his ministry and obligations to the church.
The Parish is an at‑will employer.
All buildings and vehicles owned by the Parish are tobacco free.
Working in a fast‑paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly.
Working on weekends, evenings, and some holidays may be required.
Will be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech, including Roman Catholic Christian prayer and liturgical celebrations.
Will be required to adhere to established dress codes and conduct standards.
May be required to use personal or parish vehicle to drive to off‑site locations.
Travelling within and outside the parish to meetings and other events may be required, and travel may require overnight lodging.
