Summary: Nursing Unit Secretary - P2C (Full‑Time) Department: P2C Location: 22 Bramhall Street, Portland, ME Organization: MaineHealth Position Summary: MaineHealth is seeking a Nursing Unit Secretary to support our P2C Unit, an 18‑bed medical telemetry inpatient unit. In this essential role, you will serve as the central communication hub for the unit‑supporting clinical staff, greeting visitors, coordinating information flow, and helping ensure the unit operates smoothly and efficiently. Schedule Four 8‑hour shifts per week Shift hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Days: Variable Rotating self‑scheduling system Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts (Saturdays and/or Sundays) every 8‑week schedule period On‑site position; no remote flexibility What You’ll Do Serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors on the unit Answer phones, manage communication, and assist with coordination of care Perform clerical duties such as chart management, order entry, and maintaining patient records Collaborate with nurses and clinical staff to support efficient patient flow Maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional work environment Transporter duties Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. License/Certifications: Current BLS certification preferred or may be required based on location. Experience: One year of hospital or health care setting preferred.
