Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assist in managing the summer associate program including tracking, calendaring and monitoring summer events; preparing orientation schedule; work with summer coordinators re summer assignments, prepare summer associate mid and end of summer reviews; prepare and summarize summer survey.
Liaise with law schools on aspects of student recruitment, including registration for on‑campus interviews and job fairs.
Coordinate and attend recruitment events including 1L and 2L law school panels, receptions and sponsorships.
Coordinate all aspects of the law student and associate interview process, including scheduling interviews, managing calendar logistics, working with search firms and tracking candidate progress and school‑specific offer data.
Assist and provide support for local hiring initiatives and communication initiatives, including preparation of DC specific recruiting materials.
Respond to inquiries, correspondence, and follow-up with candidates, summer associates, attorneys, and external contacts.
Greet applicants upon arrival, provide office tours, and escort candidates to interviews as needed.
Update and maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate information in the recruitment database.
Manage and process recruiting expenses and budget.
Attend NALP‑ and WALRAA‑sponsored programs.
Provide general administrative support and assist with additional projects as assigned by the Manager, Legal Recruiting and Professional Development.
Qualifications/Position Requirements
Self‑motivated, proactive, and a positive team player with strong professionalism.
Punctual, reliable, and flexible, with the ability to work overtime as needed.
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, candidates, and staff at all levels.
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and multi‑task in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment while maintaining high work quality.
Good judgment and professional maturity, including the ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other applications as needed.
Experience with viDesktop is a plus.
Education And/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree required.
2 – 4 years of legal recruiting experience or 3 – 5 years of general recruiting experience at a large organization preferred.
Compensation
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75,000 – $85,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Davis Polk offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
