Senior Engineer, Transmission System Planning

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain system models for transmission studies, including collection, review, and modification of a variety of electric system parameters.
Conduct adequacy assessments and develop options to meet delivery objectives with latitude for independent action and decision making.
Perform reliability studies such as power flow, transient stability, short circuit, and electromagnetic transients.
Identify key technical issues and develop solutions.
Interpret and apply federal, regional (ISO‑NE), industry, and corporate transmission planning standards and the regulations of federal, state, and local authorities.
Collaborate with engineers in System Planning, Transmission Asset Strategy, and Electric Operations for technical support in planning.
Train junior staff in technical analyses and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related quantitative field with at least five (5) years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, or a Master’s degree with at least three (3) years of experience.
Experience with power system transmission analysis tools such as TARA, ASPEN, PSSE or PSCAD.
Proficiency with Python.
Application of electrical theory for planning electrical power supply systems.
Experience working with federal, regional, and local planning standards.
Additional Information Up to 10% travel required between CT, MA, and NH. Hybrid option to work from home available (3 days in office per week required).
Salary: $130,333 - $168,960.
