The emergency departments at ChristianaCare’s Christiana Hospital, Wilmington Hospital, Union Hospital, and the free‑standing emergency department in Middletown, Delaware treat a combined total of more than 225,000 patients each year, making our doctors, nurses, and support staff among the most experienced emergency medical professionals in the region. ChristianaCare’s Emergency Department is ranked 24th in the United States and 15th on the East Coast in number of patient visits, according to data from the American Hospital Association.
ChristianaCare is seeking Registered Nurses for our Emergency Per Diem Pool. Candidates should be flexible to work at Christiana Hospital, Wilmington Hospital, and Middletown Emergency Departments as required by business need.
Highlights
Our emergency department per diem registered nurses go to three of our Emergency Departments.

Flexible self‑scheduling!
We offer competitive pay rates with shift & weekend differentials.
What to Expect Pay rates are based upon the amount of hours you commit to on a monthly basis. You may sign up for 36‑hour, 60‑hour, and 84‑hour commitments in 4‑week blocks.
This program is designed for experienced ED nurses. We provide orientation at all three sites. Orientation includes classes and at least (3) 12‑hour orientation shifts at all three locations.
Requirements
Commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire can be considered with relevant experience.
More than two years of experience in an Emergency Department.
ACLS and PALS required. TNCC strongly preferred.
Pay Rates are based on Monthly Commitment: 36 hours: $52; 60 hours: $54; 84 hours: $56
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including but not limited to skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
