Overview
Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) seeks a Mental Health Therapist (LSW, LPC, or higher) to work at the Dayton Correctional Institution.
Responsibilities
Completes detailed screens, mental health evaluations, crisis services and suicide watch assessments within scope of practice.
Provides clinical direction to lower level workers and may serve as treatment team coordinator.
Conducts advanced practice individual and group clinical interventions prescribed on the individual treatment plan, using strategies within scope and directed by supervisor.
Provides clinical case management services to an assigned caseload, including monitoring offender compliance with the treatment plan.
Completes psychosocial needs and treatment assessments as part of interdisciplinary treatment planning.
Consults with institution staff regarding inmate institutional adjustment and service needs.
Initiates and maintains contact with families and community agencies.
Provides and seeks information relative to patient care and treatment.
Makes appropriate community and re‑reentry referrals, per mental health treatment team.
Writes reports and documentation, including inmate contacts, progress notes, discharge plans, and other forms per policy and protocol.
Attends supervision meetings, in‑service training sessions, workshops, and peer review as assigned.
Qualifications
Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
