Position Description As a Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in our healthcare team by overseeing staff assignments and providing comprehensive supervision of resident care. Your responsibilities include ensuring the highest degree of quality resident care by adhering to established policies and procedures, and following the guidance of the Director of Nursing (DON).
Qualifications
Educational Background: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or recognized Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) program with a current licensure in the state of Kansas.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities and willingness to collaborate with professional and nonprofessional personnel.
Language Proficiency: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
General Duties and Responsibilities Clinical
Complete all required record-keeping forms and charts during a resident's admission, discharge, transfer, and other important events. Ensure records are appropriately filed or forwarded to the relevant department.
Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the physician.
Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge of residents, including arranging transportation and packing.
Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feeding, suction, wound care, specimen collection, and other procedures as outlined by facility policies and procedures.
Supervision
Collaborate with facility consultants as required, implementing recommended changes under the guidance of the DON.
Investigate and address complaints and grievances; provide necessary oral and written reports to the DON.
Exchange nursing reports at the beginning and end of your shift.
Conduct daily checks on all residents to ensure prescribed treatments are administered correctly and assess their physical and emotional well-being.
Keep the DON informed about residents, staff, and related matters.
