Respiratory Therapist - (Multiple Openings) Full Time 72Hrs/Pp, Day Shift - Bronson Battle Creek • Up to $10K Sign on Bonus Available
Join Team Bronson and work at the Bronson Battle Creek Campus. The position is full‑time, daytime shifts 11 a.m.–11 p.m. and 7 a.m.–7 p.m.

Position Details Multiple openings for Full‑time Respiratory Therapist on the Bronson Battle Creek campus. Shifts are 11a-11p and 7a-7p.
Position Summary Under general supervision from the Respiratory Manager and/or Director, the Respiratory Therapist provides routine patient care, follows provider prescriptions, administers respiratory therapy and serves as a resource to providers, nurses, and other team members regarding advanced respiratory diagnosis and rehabilitation.
Minimum Requirements
Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (AS); Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Current Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Michigan.
For employees hired after 2004, Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials (RRT) required within 1 year of hire.
Must complete AHA courses: BLS, ACLS, PALS and AAP‑NRP; BLS certification within 3 months of hire; ACLS, PALS and NRP within 1 year.
Responsibilities
Supports the hospital’s mission, vision and values.
Provides respiratory therapy and communicates findings to appropriate personnel.
Evaluates objective and subjective data, discusses conclusions with providers and nurses.
Routinely evaluates blood gases and adjusts therapy based on results.
Communicates ventilator recommendations to providers and nursing.
Performs assessments and titrates oxygen therapy.
Observes patient response and modifies therapy according to protocols.
Notifies Manager, nursing personnel and providers of adverse patient reactions.
Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation and assists with “Code Blue” as necessary.
Assists with tracheal intubation as competency allows.
Maintains artificial airways (endotracheal tube and tracheostomy tubes) in accordance with policy.
Assists with patient and family education.
Performs basic pulmonary function testing, EKGs, arterial blood gases, pulse oximetry, end‑tidal CO₂ monitoring and transcutaneous oximetry.
Assists with bedside bronchoscopies, intubations and extubations.
Performs naso‑tracheal, endo‑tracheal, tracheal suction and sample collections.
Assists patient transport via walking, wheelchair, gurney or crib; may transport patients between facilities.
Qualifications
Demonstrates adherence to Bronson “Commitment to Customer Service” standards.
Age‑specific competencies for direct patient care roles.
Participates in professional growth programs including self‑development and continuous education.
Maintains knowledge of advanced respiratory diagnosis and procedures.
Effective communication skills with patients, families and multidisciplinary team.
Schedule
Variable shift (11 a.m.–11 p.m. and 7 a.m.–7 p.m.)
Full‑time, scheduled weekly hours: 36 hours.
