Pharmacy Customer Service Associate – Walgreens

Responsibilities
Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Register sales on the assigned cash register and provide courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
Distribute cash and change, process voids, returns, refunds, and exchanges, and manage OTC aisles when possible.
Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records.
Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager—including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying correctness, and checking for possible interactions.
Report prescription errors promptly to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist’s personal attention, including those to physicians.
Process manual claims for third‑party program prescription services and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Assist the Pharmacy Department with inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, storing shipments, and filing claims for overages or shortages.
Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco).
Construct and maintain displays, including promotional and seasonal structures, and complete resets and revisions as directed.
Assist with product placement and stock rotation using first‑in, first‑out methods.
Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service and poster printing.
Assume web‑pick‑up responsibilities by monitoring orders, picking items, and delivering them as customers arrive.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly store condition and appearance.
Comply with all company policies and procedures; build respectful relationships with coworkers.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification.
Attend training, complete PPLs as requested by management, and acquire continuous education credits.
Maintain knowledge and skills in healthcare and pharmacy, including staying abreast of latest news and developments.
Basic Qualifications
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Six months of experience in a retail environment.
Prior work experience with Walgreens.
Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing medications).
Good computer skills.
Knowledge of store inventory control.
PTCB certification.
