West River Mental Health has been providing mental health care in Western South Dakota since 1948 and is the largest, most advanced community mental healthcare facility in the region. We are looking for RN/LPN professionals to coordinate medical treatment, rehabilitation, and support services for identified clients, providing a safe and therapeutic environment and facilitating seamless transitions to community resources. Provide case management services to clients, including participation in medical treatment planning, monitoring progress, and coordinating medical, social, and psychiatric services. Document and notify staff of changes in client status and provide emergency services when the client is in crisis. Assess and manage symptoms when clinically appropriate. Assist with administration of prescription and non‑prescription medication and instruct clients in self‑administration. Provide or coordinate staff training for CPR, first aid, medication management, and infection control. Develop, maintain, and monitor procedures for medication administration and storage. Document client activity in chart as required by company operating procedures. Assist with referral to appropriate providers to ensure clients obtain basic necessities of daily life, basic daily living activities, and social skill development. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of medical protocols related to mental illness. Knowledge of community resources. Skill in computer typing and keyboard usage. Ability to administer CPR, first aid, and medication management. Ability to enter a variety of buildings, including court systems, public service agencies, and client homes, and to navigate multiple levels. Ability to respond to clients by phone and face‑to‑face in emergency situations. Professional interaction with clients and customers. Capacity to sit and type on a computer keyboard for short to moderate lengths of time. Maintain a South Dakota driver’s license and vehicle liability insurance and safely operate a vehicle in all weather conditions. Education and Experience
RN, LPN, or Paramedic Certification in the State of South Dakota. Eligibility
