Full time, 36 hours per week
11 AM – 11 PM
Job Responsibilities The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for providing competent nursing care using the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, health promotion, evaluation, and teaching. The RN upholds standards of practice and professional performance, ensuring quality, evidence‑based practice, ethical behavior, cultural competence, and effective communication.
Unit Description
Board‑certified emergency physicians
Emergency nurses with advanced cardiac life support, trauma, and pediatric certifications
Dedicated pediatric‑trained team for patients of all ages
Separate observation rooms for children and a family‑friendly waiting area
Direct connection to a fully accessible radiology department
Landing pad for Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance, ensuring rapid transport when necessary
Education
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred
Certification
Virginia or compact multistate RN license in good standing
Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification within 1 year of hire
Experience
2 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting required
Emergency department experience highly preferred
