Job Overview
Vital Medical Transport is looking for Paramedics for our Memphis division. Both full‑time and part‑time positions are available. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package.
Paramedics must provide advanced emergency and non‑emergency care, respond to calls, perform medical services, transport patients to medical facilities, and provide care during transport. They may administer medications orally and intravenously, interpret ECGs, and use monitors and complex equipment.
They must remain calm, reassure patients, and perform lifesaving procedures under training guidelines. They must safely transfer patients onto stretchers and carry them if needed.
Responsibilities
Abide by State of Tennessee policies and procedures.
Respond to non‑emergent and emergency medical calls.
Assess patients’ condition and determine a course of treatment, providing care per Vital Medical Transport‑approved standing medical orders and training level.
Administer medications as outlined in standing medical orders.
Use backboards and restraints to keep patients safe during transport.
Assist in transferring patients to hospital emergency departments and report observations.
Create patient care reports and fully document medical care given.
Replace supplies and clean equipment after each use.
Drive an ambulance safely.
Transport patients between facilities.
Requirements Essential Skills / Education:
18 years of age or older.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid Tennessee paramedic license.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
High proficiency at BLS level of service.
Compassionate interpersonal skills.
Problem‑solving and organizational skills.
Current CPR certification.
Preferred Certifications:
ACLS Certificate
PHTLS Certificate
ITLS Certificate
National Registry Certification
Employment Conditions:
Pass post‑offer pre‑employment physical, drug test and criminal background check.
Annual TB and rubella screening may be required.
Work within Vital Medical Transport compliance program.
Maintain all certifications and licenses throughout employment.
Physical & Working Conditions:
Work exposed to elements, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, loud noises.
Heavy lifting, pushing/pulling objects over 100lbs, standing, bending, kneeling, walking repeatedly throughout shift.
Exposure to potentially dangerous materials; ability to remain calm and take control.
Work with blood or blood‑borne pathogens; must follow safety protocols.
Compensation Hourly wage $24–30.50
