Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team, collaborates in establishing patient goals, and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards. Shift

RN – Relief Shift Leader (RSL) – Night Shift (7p – 7a) with a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 6‑week schedule. Unit Details

Join a fast‑paced, collaborative team on 5 South, a 24‑bed Cardiology Stepdown Unit specializing in the care of adult patients recovering from complex cardiac conditions. This unit provides a stepdown level of care to patients transitioning from the Cardiac Medicine ICU. Patient Population

Leadership Role: Serve as the Relief Shift Leader on night shift, guiding and supporting nurses while coordinating patient care. Team‑Oriented Culture: Strong emphasis on collaboration and support. Leadership Support: Work closely with Clinical Staff Leaders (CSLs) and nursing leadership to enhance clinical practice and team development. Comprehensive Orientation: 6–8 week program with cardiac‑specific training and precepted shifts. Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum. Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care to determine nursing diagnosis. Utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes. Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Additional duties may be assigned. Technical Capabilities

Care Planning (Novice): Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, prioritize tasks, schedule activities, and adapt to changes with minimal disruption. Nursing Patient Education (Novice): Provides patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice): Performs primary care patient interviews and physical examinations, gathering clinical data for referral and treatment. Evidence‑Based Practice (Novice): Searches for evidence to answer clinical questions under directed supervision. Nursing Philosophy
