Buyer (Materials & Purchasing) Perform purchasing and sourcing functions for maintenance and ground support equipment. Ensure timely and cost‑effective buys in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations. Manage purchase order database, track orders from input to receipt, serve as point of contact for order conflicts, provide training on Quantum purchasing system. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Perform purchasing duties for department as required. Procure and research materials and services necessary to support customers and AerSale requirements at optimum efficiency and pricing. Promote the most effective use of company funds in acquisition of assigned items at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements. Analyze and evaluate quotes, manage approval limits, ensure proper approvals for items above procurement limit of $500.00. Select vendors, source material, negotiate prices, terms, and method of shipment from approved vendors list. Research price catalogs and illustrated parts catalog and manuals. Manage tracking and reporting of purchase orders, perform follow‑up actions and brief management on status. Contact Sales Department on discrepancies found while processing orders. Work with Quality Inspectors to resolve quantity and traceability issues. Process Materials on Requisition (MOR) on a daily basis from receipt in department through input of purchase orders. Identify and correct computer procedures as required. Perform back‑up expeditor duties as required. Execute other work as directed by Materials Manager. Reconcile accounting and receiving discrepancies. Provide training on proper procedures/duties of the Purchasing Department. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Maintain a good company image and vendor relations through professional business conduct. Education And Experience
Associate’s degree or two years equivalent procurement experience. Minimum two years purchasing experience in a repair station or airline environment. Abilities And Skills
Negotiation skills, ability to establish accounts and determine methods of shipment. Effective networking and strong working relationships with all departments and employees. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Typing speed at least 35 WPM. Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, attention to detail. Self‑starter, able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work under pressure, maintain flexibility with departmental schedules. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Other Requirements
