Position Overview Amtech Solutions, a UES Company, is a leading architecture and engineering firm specializing in building envelope consulting, structural engineering, testing services, and litigation support. With over 40 years of industry experience, we are deeply rooted in delivering innovative solutions and fostering strong client relationships. By joining our team in Denver, CO, you will gain the expertise of a specialized consulting firm backed by the national reach and resources of UES. We are seeking a detail‑oriented CAD Production Drafter to serve as a critical technical foundation for our team, producing detailed technical drawings for a wide range of municipal and educational clients while gaining hands‑on field experience and a clear developmental pathway toward future opportunities in Project Management within the Building Sciences Consulting space.
Responsibilities
Core Drafting & Design: Prepare accurate and detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD and other software, translating concepts into constructable architectural and engineering designs for building envelope systems (roofs, walls, fenestration, and foundations).
Team Collaboration: Partner with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure alignment with design goals and project specifications.
Documentation: Assist in producing critical documents such as material lists, cost estimates, and technical reports to ensure project efficiency and clarity.
Technical Support: Perform necessary calculations, measurements, and estimations to support the drafting process and ensure design feasibility.
Fieldwork and Construction Administration: Conduct site visits, produce field reports, and perform building tests, including climbing ladders for roof and façade access to assist with assessments and construction administration tasks on a regular basis.
Quality Assurance: Maintain and update design libraries, ensuring all drawings comply with industry standards and reflect project developments.
Project and Meeting Support: Attend construction meetings when necessary, contribute valuable insights, and provide updates to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in a related field.
3+ years of experience as a CAD Technician.
Strong knowledge of CAD software and drafting procedures.
Excellent technical design skills.
Good mathematical abilities.
Ability to meet strict deadlines.
Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Travel Requirements
This position does not require regular travel as part of its primary responsibilities. Occasional travel may be required, up to 10%, primarily for off‑site meetings, training sessions, or company events. Travel, when necessary, will be communicated in advance and aligned with business needs.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Office Environment: Operates in a professional office, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods using a computer and standard office equipment; involves sitting, data entry, and frequent communication.
Fieldwork & Site Visits: Requires frequent travel to construction sites with the ability to navigate uneven terrain, climb ladders, and access roofs or confined areas while wearing required PPE.
Physical Exertion: Includes occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting office materials or field equipment up to 15 lbs.
