Position
Distribution Operator at Vestis Corporation, Kent, WA.
Overview Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and out of the facility.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Become familiar with the garment numbering system (GID) and shipping schedule board.
Follow shipping schedule and separate garments into routes for specific sort areas.
Remove garments from supply rail and place on appropriate conveyor or placard hook.
Hang all shirts of the same route then all pants before next batch/bar.
Remove odd garments and place in correct space on odd numbered garment bar.
Inform supervisor of any quality, mechanical, or shipping schedule problems.
Watch end of supply bars for falling garments and re‑hang appropriately.
Stop line when jams or other problems occur and for breaks.
Monitor garments for wrinkles and remove garments not meeting specified quality standards.
Maintain safe, clean work environment and observe best practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Understand training, written, and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills.
Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
Work independently and as part of a team.
Meet attendance schedule.
Working Environment & Safety Requirements Work performed in a warehouse setting, exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, and noise. Shift schedule may include weekends; overtime required as needed.
Physical requirements: repetitive motions, continuous reaching at shoulder or overhead, use of hands, standing and walking for long periods. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
Education High school degree or equivalent preferred.
Benefits Medical, dental, vision, pension. 40 hours vacation, 8 floating holidays, 6 paid holidays yearly.
Compensation Hourly rate ranges from $19.27 and upward.
