Responsibilities
Oversee and actively participate in daily shipping and receiving operations, including unloading, inspecting, verifying, and storing incoming shipments.
Ensure all outgoing shipments are accurately packaged, labeled, documented, and dispatched on schedule.
Lead, train, and support shipping and receiving team members; provide guidance, coaching, and daily task assignments.
Maintain accurate inventory records; perform cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with purchasing and other departments to ensure proper supply flow.
Ensure all materials are safely and properly handled, stored, and distributed according to company policies.
Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to resolve delivery issues or discrepancies.
Prepare and maintain shipping documents, logs, and reports.
Ensure compliance with company standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Identify process improvement opportunities and assist management in implementing more efficient workflows.
Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling tools (training provided if needed).
Serve as the primary point of contact in the supervisor’s absence.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; additional logistics or warehouse training a plus.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics.
Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing priorities.
Proficient with inventory management systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Excel, shipping software).
Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
Effective communication in English, both verbal and written.
