Apprentice Electrician (Full-Time) Location: Austin, TX.

Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is a premier entertainment destination featuring world‑class events including the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix, NASCAR, MotoGP, and over 30 headline concerts annually. The role focuses on electrical work across high‑profile venues and events, requiring a versatile, safety‑oriented approach in a dynamic, fast‑changing environment.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, panels, outlets, conduit, and lighting.

Perform preventive maintenance and upgrades across multiple buildings and venues.

Coordinate temporary power setups for large‑scale events and race weekends.

Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and site plans.

Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and OSHA regulations.

Support emergency power systems and event response as needed.

Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Collaborate with other trades and contractors on projects and renovations.

Qualifications

Minimum 4–6 years of commercial/industrial electrical experience.

Strong understanding of power distribution, low‑voltage systems, and high‑capacity load demands.

Ability to work independently or as part of a small team.

Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and on elevated platforms or lifts.

Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during events.

Strong communication, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Valid Texas Apprentice Electrician License (required).

Strong interpersonal skills; can effectively communicate and relate to all levels within and outside the organization; create and build positive and productive relationships.

Drive the team and the organization for results, improving bottom‑line performance; make timely or planned decisions appropriate to the circumstances.

Make tough decisions, gain input from others, and move decisions forward in the organization.

Preferred Experience

Experience in sports venues, arenas, or event‑based environments.

Familiarity with backup generators, lighting control systems, and kitchen equipment power needs.

Physical Demand & Work Environments

Ability to stand, sit, use hands to handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.

Ability to stand/walk for long periods.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.

Work in extreme outdoor environments throughout the year.

Noise level is usually moderate but can be loud during events.
