StandardAero is seeking an experienced Assistant A&P Lead to oversee weekend maintenance operations for Gulfstream aircraft. As part of a dedicated team, you will ensure that aircraft meet rigorous safety and performance standards while driving efficiency and safety.
Job Description As an Assistant A&P Lead, you will be highly proficient in the inspection, repair, assembly and testing of aircraft, act as a resource to other mechanics, and liaise between customers and the mechanical team. You will determine maintenance sequences, guide training, and support production flow to meet schedule targets.
What You'll Do
Be highly proficient in the inspection, repair, assembly and testing of an aircraft
Act as a resource for technical documents and manuals for other A&P Mechanics
Act as a liaison between customers and A&P Mechanics
Determine maintenance sequences and techniques
Guide and train other levels of A&P Mechanics
Minimum Requirements
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
High school diploma or equivalent
A&P License required
Minimum of 3 years Gulfstream maintenance experience (any model GII through G550)
Minimum of 3 years corporate jet experience performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including 12/24/36/72‑month inspections
Complete initial visual inspection and routine maintenance on the aircraft and its components
Run functional, operational and mechanical tests on the aircraft
Identify discrepancies to be addressed or fixed
Dismantle and remove aircraft and components
Evaluate removed components for serviceability and document discrepancies
Clean parts or components as required
Complete scheduled maintenance and necessary repairs/modifications of the aircraft
Ensure all parts and components are ready and available
Reinstall and test aircraft components
Reassemble aircraft
Perform operational checks and engine runs to ensure airworthiness
Document and sign off on all work throughout each process
Follow maintenance manuals throughout each process
Complete inspections in accordance with original equipment manufacturer manuals
Assist leader with production flow and work scheduling
Act as backup to leader
Provide support and guidance to the group and troubleshoot issues/problems
Preferred Characteristics
Basic knowledge of operating a personal computer or laptop
Knowledge of job‑specific machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Capable of repairing machines or systems using needed tools
Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed for a job
Capability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when it is needed
Ability to diagnose operating errors and decide corrective action
Skill to perform tests and inspections of products, services or processes to evaluate quality or performance
Ability to install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
Capability to control operations of equipment or systems
Use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Ability to monitor gauges, dials or other indicators to ensure a machine is working properly
