The Personal Banker I position will provide an exceptional customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing long lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. The role is responsible for processing teller transactions and working as a member of the platform staff. The banker will help customers understand and address their financial needs, and provide solutions that span across the customer's lifecycle using a consultative sales and service process. The banker is responsible for risk management, adhering to procedures, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships through proactive outreach in person, over the phone, or other channels.
Use a consultative approach to uncover and identify customer needs and tailor recommendations.
Maintain a working knowledge of products, services, and processes.
Collaborate with internal partners to meet customer needs and resolve issues.
Analyze customer credit data to ensure customers are matched with appropriate solutions.
Provide support for technology adoption.
Process teller transactions while adhering to balancing guidelines.
Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
High School Diploma/GED and 6 months of customer service experience, or college degree, or equivalent military experience.
Ability to develop comfort level with both new household acquisitions and deepening customer relationships.
Professional communication skills, verbal and written, representing Fifth Third Bank.
Business acumen and sound decision making.
SAFE Act registration through NMLS required at time of employment.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment.
Extended viewing of computer screens.
