They are a well-established, quality-driven precision contract machining company serving OEMs in the aerospace, defense, automotive, and agricultural industries.
Position Overview The Controller leads financial operations, reporting accuracy, cash flow, inventory valuation, and forecasting for a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment. The role ensures financial visibility, supports decision-making, and drives improvements that enhance profitability and working capital performance.
Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership
Oversee accounting functions, cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Ensure timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements
Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital tools
Provide financial dashboards and KPI visibility for leadership
Operations & Analytics
Build financial/operational models for trend and variance analysis
Integrate financial and production data for real-time performance tracking
Optimize ERP/MRP utilization (Epicor preferred)
Manage inventory valuation accuracy, cycle counts, and COGS integrity
Implement automated and lean financial processes
Strategic Decision Support
Provide insights for pricing, capital projects, resource allocation, cost reduction initiatives
Support long-range planning and annual budgets
Maintain banking/audit relationships and support audits
Support M&A, product expansion evaluations, and capital investment modeling
Compliance & Controls
Maintain internal controls, regulatory compliance, and support ITAR financial requirements
Lead financial reviews and external audit processes
Qualifications
Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred; or 10–15+ years finance experience in manufacturing (including 5+ in machining or defense)
Expertise in cash flow management, cost accounting, ERP/MRP financial integration, budgeting/forecasting, and financial modeling
Strong analytical and communication skills
Proven leadership of finance teams
Preferred
Aerospace/defense/government contracting experience
Lean/Six Sigma process improvement exposure
Advanced Excel and BI tools experience (Power BI, Tableau)
Work Environment
Office and manufacturing floor setting with periodic shop exposure
Ability to move throughout facility as needed
