Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and engaged individual who is willing and able to help guide the company’s continued growth through candid financial insights. The CFO / Controller (CPA) will serve as a senior financial manager who is responsible for daily accounting and financial operations and will report directly to the CEO of a mid-sized company. This role will need to have a strong understanding of internal accounting and financial functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger auditing, budgeting, tax and regulatory compliance, and monthly closing processes. They must be able to communicate and work well with various departments and key members of the management staff. This is a hands-on role for someone who isn’t afraid to dig into details, consult with and advise a full spectrum of departments, and support a close-knit team.

Job Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, inventory accounting, and general ledger auditing

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements in accordance with GAAP

Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes

Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures

Partner with department managers to provide insights into cost analysis, production margins, and inventory management

Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements

Collaborate with executive management on financial strategy, cash flow management, and capital investments

Position Requirements

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

5 years of progressive accounting experience; previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and standard costing systems

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Must be familiar with QuickBooks Desktop accounting software
