Real Estate Tax Analyst

Join the Real Estate Tax group to manage the portfolio’s tax liability and support assessment, appeal reviews, budgets, and tax bill payments.
A day in the life
Maintain, review, and enter tax and assessment data in Itamlink, leveraging AI tools for accuracy and efficiency.
Manage the property tax billing process: retrieve bills, review database entries, and prepare and deliver the Tax Due Report (TDR).
Assist with preparation and review of valuation and assessment workups for appeal opportunities.
Track and update appeal status and savings information.
Review and track real estate tax refunds for accuracy and timely processing.
Review third‑party provider invoices for accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
Assist in preparing and completing annual budgets, forecast adjustments, and tax projections for new construction and acquisitions.
Prepare and distribute data requests to third‑party consultants.
Respond to information requests from assessing jurisdictions and support compliance–related tasks.
Complete and file abatement and incentive compliance forms.
Conduct research projects, including title policy review, jurisdictional tax policies, and property re‑parceling.
Identify and contribute to process improvements, including expanding AI tool usage within workflows.
Assume additional responsibilities as needed to support departmental and portfolio objectives.
Building blocks for success
Background in property valuation, finance, accounting, or similar.
Familiar with income, cost, and sales approaches to valuation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to research and adapt to procedures in diverse jurisdictions.
Ability to address tax disputes tactfully.
Customer service and team‑player mentality.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, accounting, or equivalent experience.
Experience using Yardi Voyager.
1‑3 years of multi‑state property tax and assessment experience.
Familiarity with Itamlink Property Tax Management system.
Hiring Salary Range: $71,000 – $89,000. Salary and entire compensation package (bonus target) are determined by location, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
