Trial Division (GCB) – Trial Preparation Assistant, Level I
The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County ("BXDA") is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. Job Responsibilities
Type court orders, motions, letters, and memos
Type and prepare affidavits of service
Perform general data entry and administrative duties in support of the bureau
Contact various witnesses for Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs)
Help prepare hearing/trial exhibits and discovery for trial
Serve subpoenas and pick up documents and property from various city agencies
All other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills
An Associate’s degree or a High School diploma/GED and a minimum of two (2) years working experience in a law firm, governmental agency, civic or community organization
A valid New York State driver’s license with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience, required and must be maintained for the duration of employment
Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
Familiarity with general court services preferred
Ability to communicate in a welcoming and professional manner
Excellent customer service skills
Minimum Qualifications
There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position. However, the ability to understand and carry out simple instructions is required.
Candidates must be able to understand and be understood in English.
