Job Description The Financial Advisor Manager (FAM) directly manages a team of Financial Advisors, focusing on hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and mentoring. The FAM oversees the day‑to‑day performance of the Advisors, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and driving referral and Mass Affluent sales growth. Key responsibilities include partnership with Retail and other partners, driving referral activities, creating positive relationships, and leading marketing program implementation.
Depth & Scope
Direct supervision of Financial Advisors (FAs)
Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and managing FAs in assigned geographic territory
Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines
Increase Mass Affluent product sales productivity and referral productivity through active coaching
Accountable for assigned revenue and referral goals
Territory management in alignment with Wealth and Retail leadership
Develop relationships with internal and external partners for training and sales ideas
Provide support for complex product sales suitability and client meetings
Execute high‑impact activities and ongoing training, coaching, and project coordination
Lead implementation of marketing programs
Assess performance of FAs within the region
Provide insights to local competitive intelligence and market share analysis
Collaborate with business development to launch lead‑generation campaigns
Participate in community and business development activities
Ensure team delivers financial plan proposals and growth metrics
Monitor expenditures and prepare financial statements and reports
Develop and retain highly competent, customer‑service‑oriented FA staff
Extensive travel within territory required
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
7–10+ years related experience
Required Licenses: Life/Health, Series 65, 7, and 24 (or ability to obtain)
Excellent communication skills
Proven managerial skills
Previous sales/leadership experience
Attention to detail and effective project management
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Experience performing complex financial and budgetary analyses
Ability to travel within assigned market (~75% time)
Driver’s License required
OCC Language
Position subject to FINRA and Securities Laws requirements
Eligible for employment under FINRA standards
Involves background and verification checks per FINRA Rule 3110(e)
Requires satisfactory results on background checks, credit reports, and regulatory searches
