Suntec Concrete
Suntec Concrete is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our preconstruction team in Salt Lake City, UT. This role will be responsible for taking off quantities, pricing, and assembling bid packages for commercial concrete projects.
Job Description
Knowledge of estimating and quantity takeoff software
Perform quantity concrete takeoffs
Review design drawings, specifications, attend pre-bid meetings, and conduct site visits to determine scope
Lead and prepare accurate proposals
Obtain pricing from vendors and subcontractors and maintain accurate database
Assemble bid packages and submit pricing
Create visual presentations
Coordinate with design team on drawing revisions
Review construction documents for value engineering
Work with field operations team throughout construction
Produce accurate quantity takeoffs and estimates for potential change orders
Demonstrated knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices
Develop scope of work for subcontractors
Oversee subcontractor selection process
Assist project managers in negotiation of contracts, buyouts, change orders, etc
Maintain and develop historical data for unit pricing
Prepare and price the value engineering items
Experience leading Preconstruction meetings
Develop and maintain relationships with owners, general contractors, and subcontractors
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
5+ years experience as a concrete estimator
Tekla software experience highly recommended
Strong technical knowledge of concrete construction methods and materials
Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, technical specifications, and contracts.
Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of industry trends, building codes, and cost data
