Role description:
Arcadis seeks a GIS Specialist to provide analytical and consulting support for US State Departments of Transportation, focusing on cartography, data management, and enterprise GIS implementation using Esri-based software.
Responsibilities
Maintain line and point event data using advanced linear referencing systems and analyze datasets within an LRS network, including centerlines, routes, and calibration points.
Perform mapping, cartography, and visualization of GIS datasets using Esri technologies, and maintain data required for producing Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) and Certified Public Mileage (CPM) reports.
Identify and design business processes for use in Workflow Manager (WMX), develop Data Reviewer checks to validate data conversion and creation processes, and manage GIS data through editing and quality assurance best practices.
Use Event Editor (EE) sites on ArcGIS Server to maintain GIS data, parse REST service calls to interrogate enterprise database systems, and design and develop geoprocessing models using Model Builder and Python.
Translate geospatial data with FME, working independently or in a team environment to complete assigned tasks.
Work location is flexible; a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
Preferred:
Experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro products (ArcGIS Pro, Experience Builder, Field Maps, Portal, Survey123, etc.).
Preferred:
Esri Roads & Highways applications and enterprise database management.
Preferred:
Linear referencing concepts.
Preferred:
Familiarity with enterprise database environments, including versioning concepts.
Preferred:
Demonstrated analytical problem‑solving skills.
Preferred:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for complex reports and presentations.
Preferred:
Experience with Asset Management software and concepts.
Preferred:
Advanced analytics and data visualization techniques.
Preferred:
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
