Position Description As an Applebee's® Assistant Manager you will oversee all aspects of day‑to‑day restaurant operations, ensuring staff and guests enjoy a passionate, high‑quality experience every day. You will be a team leader, an excellent problem solver, and able to handle stress while maintaining an outstanding work environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Ensure timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit.

Cultivate a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of our core values and beliefs.

Respond to and correct all verbal guest complaints promptly.

Prioritize guest contact by completing required table visits as established by Flynn Applebee's standards.

Maintain departmental inventory levels.

Ensure product preparation and presentation meet company standards through line checks.

Effectively schedule employees to meet sales demands.

Maintain effective safety and security programs.

Promote and lead restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation.

Perform routine maintenance and report needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director.

Promote quality recruitment and referrals of potential team member and management candidates.

Promote Flynn | Applebee's training procedures for new managers.

Help maintain a trained staff through employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings, and implementation of company policy and training systems.

Participate in continuous employee development using One‑on‑One and performance documentation, contributing to written evaluations.

Assess employee efficiency, provide fair feedback, and continuously improve employees’ development areas.

Monitor acceptable employee performance and document situations requiring disciplinary or corrective action.

Assure compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures.

Control cost in the assigned department.

Comply with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines.

Conduct bi‑weekly and weekly food and liquor inventories at AD/GM request and ensure completion.

Prepare and submit accurate daily paperwork.

Ensure sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards.

Serve as a role model for managers and employees.

Develop proficiency in all store‑related technology.

Be willing and able to work in all positions and assist in a team member position as needed, including cooking on the line, expo, seating guests, bartending, etc.

Use the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies.

Education and Experience

At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience.

Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.

Compensation and Benefits Handbook: $20.98 to $27.27 per hour, approximately $60,000 to $78,000 annually based on a 50‑hour work week, with potential monthly bonus where applicable. Competitive wages, profit sharing/bonus, medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, paid vacation, and paid sick leave.

Physical Standards

Work various shifts ranging in hours, including weekends.

Stand and move for up to ten (10) hours in length.

Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc. up to 50 pounds.

Read and write to facilitate communication; possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
