Job Description The Medical Project Office (MPO) Project Planner is primarily responsible for supporting tactical budget management and vendor contracting in support of MHI tactics. This position serves as an expert and leader in contract and vendor management and financial reporting to ensure compliance with all applicable AbbVie policies.

The MPO Project Planners manage the process of contracting with vendors once final documentation has been provided (e.g., statement of work, work order, services agreement, bid waivers) including submitting and tracking to PO issuance, invoice processing, LBE gaiting, financial reconciliation and reporting.

MPO Project Planners liaise directly with Finance, Purchasing, and Outsourcing to maintain awareness of the most current policies and/or templates and resolve issues as necessary.

Responsibilities include: critically assess vendor proposals and contracts for compliance; submit documentation to Purchasing or Outsourcing for PO issuance; monitor process to completion, address issues, and find compliant solutions; complete new vendor setup documentation (including IT assessments); collect, summarize, consolidate, and verify data from multiple sources for monthly budget tracking, reporting, and reconciliation; perform monthly contract reconciliation of all agreements with monthly Paid Invoice/Goods Recipient; provide project and historical information, reporting, and tracking to support all finance planning cycles; continuously monitor projects for issues that require resolution; provide reports and data for accurate resource estimates; compile and provide routine standard reports on a monthly and ad‑hoc basis; provide analysis for strategic management of HCP contracts and carryover liability; partner with Office of Ethics & Compliance teams; assist with audits, compliance reporting and corporate initiatives; coordinate monthly meetings with MPMs; support and/or contribute to execution of GMA Tactics; and more.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, scientific, or business‑related field is required. Preference for MBA.

Project management certification (e.g., PMP) and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.

Minimum of 6+ years of operational and/or project management experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.

Applied knowledge of project management tools and processes (e.g., management of integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk and procurement).

Confidence working with multiple systems to perform job responsibilities. Experience with SAP ECC/SRM, Excel Pivot Tables, Qlik Vision Dashboard Reporting, APTTUS, Centris/C3, ACE, IRT is a plus.

Experience with performance measurement, metric reporting, data analysis, and communication (e.g., metrics, dashboards).

Consistently communicates in an accurate, emotionally intelligent, concise, and inclusive manner.

Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines, and adapt quickly to change in priorities.

Builds strong relationships with peers and cross‑functionally with partners outside the team to solve problems and drive results.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and the Company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
