Essential functions:
Reads, initials, and dates shift reports within the first 60 minutes of shift.
Checks all perimeter doors at the onset and end of each shift to ensure they are locked and alarms are armed. Records results on shift report.
Consistently adheres to, enforces, and effectively implements Agency and program policies and procedures, the Federal Bureau of Prisons Statement of Work, and stays current of any changes.
Supervises the daily activities of clients in the facility, including clean up, signing in and out, recreation, visitation, and meal times.
Accurately accounts for the whereabouts of each client by conducting and documenting facility whereabouts three times per shift in accordance with Agency policy.
Maintains an active presence on the floor (common and dorm areas) by conducting frequent circulations of the facility at a minimum 30‑minute interval, checks for unsafe conditions and facility and dorm cleanliness, documents and corrects conditions.
Completes scheduled activities including intakes, random alcohol tests, urine drug screens, dorm searches, pat downs, and emergency drills in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Conducts alcohol testing and collects urine specimens in accordance with Agency policy.
Conducts client intakes and ensures all forms are filled out accurately and completely.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s Degree in human services field preferred.
Relevant job experience may be substituted for preferred college degree.
Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and a driving record that does not preclude the employee from being covered by Agency liability insurance.
Must obtain and maintain federal clearance from the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Must be able to effectively work with Agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse client population.
Must have the cognitive skills needed to complete tasks, including learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for decision making, problem solving, and comprehending.
Must be able to perform under stress and/or in emergencies.
Shift Information:
Full‑time 2nd Shift; 2:00 pm‑10:00 pm (weekend day(s) required)
Part‑time 3rd Shift; weekend availability required
Pay Range:
$17.20‑$20.80 per hour based on education/experience
