Role Summary Boswell is seeking a meticulous and experienced Benefits and Compliance Analyst to join our Human Resources team. In a hybrid role, you will combine the financial stewardship of a Benefits Analyst with the regulatory rigor of a Leave & Compliance Administrator. Your responsibilities will focus on the complexities of multi-state operations, ensuring strict adherence to federal and state regulations while maintaining the financial integrity of our benefit expenditures. The ideal candidate is a subject‑matter expert in regulatory compliance (ERISA, ACA, FMLA) who thrives on mitigating risk and ensuring a seamless, compliant employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance, Leave Management & Risk Mitigation (Primary Focus)

Multi‑State Leave Administration: Serve as the subject matter expert and administrator for all federal and state‑mandated leaves, including FMLA, ADA, and New Jersey Family Leave.

Regulatory Filings & Reporting: Lead the preparation and submission of ACA reporting (1094‑C/1095‑C), Form 5500s, and EEO‑1 reporting.

Disability & Claims Management: Manage the full lifecycle of Short‑Term and Long‑Term Disability claims, acting as the primary liaison between employees and carriers to resolve complex claim issues while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Policy Auditing: Continuously monitor changes in federal and state employment laws to update internal policies and conduct regular internal audits of benefits data to prevent costly penalties and ensure data integrity within the HRIS.

Financial Integrity & Data Analysis

Billing & Reconciliation: Execute a rigorous monthly audit of all carrier invoices (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, etc.) against payroll data, identifying discrepancies, preventing vendor overpayments, and coordinating timely payments with the Finance department.

401(k) Administration: Oversee the daily operations of the retirement plan, including the processing of employee contributions, loan monitoring, and hardship distributions to ensure compliance with IRS and DOL regulations.

Cost Control: Analyze benefit usage trends and financial data to assist leadership in making cost‑effective decisions regarding plan design and renewals.

Benefits Operations & Employee Experience

Open Enrollment Management: Project manage the annual Open Enrollment cycle from start to finish, including system testing, communications drafting, coordinating benefits fairs, and processing final enrollments.

Vendor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for brokers, insurance carriers, and third‑party administrators (TPAs), holding vendors accountable to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and resolving escalated service issues.

Tier‑2 Support: Serve as the single point of contact for complex benefits inquiries, life events (Qualifying Life Events), and enrollment issues, providing high‑touch support to engineering and administrative staff.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in Benefits Administration with a heavy focus on Leave Management and Compliance.

Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of ERISA, COBRA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and New Jersey state‑specific employment laws.

Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in Excel.

Analytical Mindset: Ability to audit complex financial invoices and interpret legal plan documents.

Communication: Strong ability to translate complex compliance and insurance jargon into clear, understandable language for employees.

Salary Range: $75,000.00 — $85,000.00 / Year
