Position Summary:

As the first‑line operational supervisor, you will train and lead team members to consistently deliver an exceptional guest experience, ensuring great tasting food, 20/20 guest expectations, and compliance with all Jack in the Box procedures, systems and standards.

Guest Expectations

– Always says "YES" to the guest, solves problems using the 3‑step method (listens, says sorry, makes it right), applies JIB Smart Selling standards, coaches team members, and remains calm during busy times.

– Holds team members accountable to uniform and grooming standards, models professional appearance, and ensures the kitchen is clean.

– Maintains restaurant cleanliness, assists with order taking and cashiering during busy periods, and ensures readiness to serve guests.

– Models urgency, encourages the team, and leads in providing fast service.

Order Accuracy

– Communicates internally to secure accurate orders, follows up on errors, and retrains staff when necessary.

– Follows all food safety policies, hand‑washing, glove procedures, and completes the safety checklist each shift.

– Treats guests with care, anticipates their needs, handles complaints calmly, and makes guests the top priority.

Front of Restaurant Responsibilities

Guest Service (Dine‑In/Drive‑Thru) – welcomes, takes, clarifies orders, enters POS, gives change, thanks guests, assembles orders, and maintains cleanliness.

Interior – empties trash, sweeps/mops, cleans tables, restrooms, equipment, wipes down menu boards, and inspects all areas.

Exterior – sweeps parking lots and sidewalks, empties trash, cleans drive‑thru boards, and inspects exterior areas.

Supervision

Workstation Operation

– trains team on operations, ensures compliance with procedures, food safety, security and cash handling.

Guest Service

– delivers exceptional experience, maintains visibility with guests, resolves concerns positively.

Leadership

– creates a friendly, clean, safe environment, operates onboarding and training, recognizes employees, and reports issues to management.

Back of Restaurant Responsibilities

Grill

– prepares menu products, monitors timers, discards expired items, maintains equipment and cleanliness.

Assembly

– assembles products, verifies appearance, temperature and order accuracy before delivery.

Prep

– manages frozen items, storage, labeling, cleanliness, and fresh ingredient checks.

Fryer

– prepares fryer products, monitors timers, maintains cleanliness of prep area.

Interior

– handles trash, cleaning, dishwashing, equipment maintenance, and overall interior cleanliness.

Exterior

– cleans parking lot, drive‑thru, and dumpster.

Receiving & Storage

– receives and stores products following procedures.

Qualifications

Experience

– 6 consecutive months JIB experience, 100% certification in all workstations for internal promotion, or 1‑year supervisory experience in a restaurant/retail service setting.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

– Minimum 18 years old, completion of Team Leader training, ServSafe certification where required, effective English communication, basic math, interpersonal skills, organization, planning, self‑starter, computer literacy, ethical behavior.

Physical Requirements

– Stand/walk 90‑95% of shift, lift 15‑25 lbs, operate cash register, respond to guest orders and monitor video displays.
