Position Overview:
The Quality Control Inspector inspects parts and materials to assure established standards of quality are maintained. They ensure the quality of workmanship and compliance with specifications through dimensional and mechanical inspections of various pieces and assemblies.
Key Responsibilities CMM Operation and Programming
Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) such as Zeiss Calypso and PC-DMIS to perform accurate measurements of complex machine parts.
Maintain CMM equipment, ensuring regular calibration and proper functioning.
Inspection and Measurement
Conduct thorough inspections of components using precision measuring instruments including CMM, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
Perform first article inspections (FAI), in‑process inspections, and final inspections to verify product conformity to specifications.
Document inspection results accurately and maintain comprehensive records in accordance with quality management systems.
Technical Interpretation and Communication
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications in accordance with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Communicate inspection results and quality issues effectively to production, engineering, and quality teams, and to customers when necessary.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address non‑conformances and implement corrective actions.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards.
Participate in internal audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist in training production personnel in quality standards and inspection procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
Bachelor’s degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Plastic Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and experience conducting capability studies.
Exposure to aerospace, life sciences, or defense manufacturing standards.
Work Environmental & Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods (8+ hours).
Regularly required to lift, carry, and maneuver parts or materials up to 25 pounds.
Manual dexterity to handle small parts, tooling, and measuring instruments.
The ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, shoes, gloves, and hearing protection.
Work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels, temperature changes, and exposure to machining oils.
