About the Position The property manager is responsible for the overall operations of the property, ensuring efficient operations, overseeing supplier contracts, maintenance, lease administration, and monthly reporting. The role also creates a positive experience for residents, associates, and clients.
Responsibilities
Manage day‑to‑day operations, including resident satisfaction and retention, full resident lifecycle activities (e.g., lease administration, rent collection and delinquency management), property P&L, and marketing in accordance with company standards.
Meet client expectations and provide an excellent customer service experience.
Recruit, interview, provide corrective feedback, and hire associates.
Create a climate where associates excel by leading, communicating a shared vision, and providing coaching and development.
Execute the strategic marketing plan to attract and retain residents.
Understand the operations guidelines in the property management agreement.
Respond to resident complaints and issues, and serve as liaison to residents and corporate office regarding common area maintenance and enforcement of landlord rules.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and networks.
Organize and implement site natural disaster and emergency evacuation plans.
Manage safety records, loss claims, and risk‑management initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Two to three years of property management experience required.
One to two years of direct management experience required.
Knowledge of resident rental lifecycle activities required.
Real estate license preferred or may be required in some locations.
Knowledge of Salesforce.com preferred.
Prior experience with Yardi Voyager or another equivalent system preferred.
Skills and Requirements
Very strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and sensitively with all levels of management.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Sensitivity to confidential matters required.
Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced, urgent environment.
Ability to relay technical concerns with adequate detail, quickly and accurately.
Proficiency in reading, writing, comprehending, and conversing in English.
Ability to use general office equipment (telephone, fax machine, printer, copier, key‑track system).
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others.
Ability to cope with and defuse situations involving angry or difficult people.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
