Grants and Contracts Administrator
– Working within Duke University School of Medicine’s Shared Research Administration Resource Group (RASR), this position supports pre‑award, post‑award, and administrative grant and contract compliance. Candidates must reside in one of the approved U.S. states and the role offers the option to work 100% remote.
Work Arrangement Remote – Candidates must live in an approved state according to

Responsibilities
Pre‑award: Develop budgets, prepare and submit grant and contract proposals, advise faculty/PI on administrative requirements, and coordinate proposal elements.
Post‑award: Manage project budgets, reconcile monthly reports, submit cost transfers, maintain compliance with federal and university regulations, and close funded projects.
Administrative: Create project management plans, manage sponsor payments, interpret departmental policies, and apply federal and university rules to effort and cost sharing.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s or related certification preferred.
Experience: No prior experience required for candidates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree; strong pre‑award and post‑award experience in a university setting strongly preferred.
Skills: Proficient use of MS Office Suite; strong analytical, communication, and project‑management skills; knowledge of federal grant rules and Duke policies.
Required Training: Completion of the Research Administration Academy (RAA) Onboarding Training within 90 days; ongoing certification maintenance.
