This well‑funded (Series B) start‑up is building a new class of high‑resolution perception sensing technology for ADAS and autonomous driving. They are looking to hire a Chip Test Engineer to drive test development and validation for their breakthrough sensor ICs. This role is critical in ensuring quality, reliability, and performance as we transition from prototype to production in the ADAS and autonomous driving markets.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize automated test strategies for advanced ICs on ATE platforms (e.g., Teradyne, Advantest). Develop and debug test features, programs, and scripts using C++, Python, or Java. Work closely with chip design, systems, product, and manufacturing teams to align test plans with performance and functional requirements. Set up and maintain test hardware and software infrastructure for both digital and mixed‑signal validation. Conduct risk assessments and drive test coverage strategies across multiple chip subsystems. Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and failure modes using tools like JMP, Spotfire, YieldHUB, or Silicon Dash. Interface with external vendors and equipment suppliers to evaluate test solutions and ensure compatibility with our unique sensor architecture. Continuously improve test methodologies, coverage, and yield through data‑driven insights. Skills & Experience
Education: degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering (or related). 5+ years in chip/IC test engineering, ideally within the semiconductor or automotive domain. Strong experience with ATE systems, test development, and debugging on platforms like Teradyne or Advantest. Proficiency in C++, Python, or Java for scripting and automation. Solid understanding of both analog and digital test methods. RF/mixed‑signal experience is a plus. Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers. Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills; ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross‑functional setting. Bonus
Experience testing mmWave or RFIC‑based systems. Background in testing high‑speed interfaces or mixed‑signal environments. Previous work in a fast‑paced startup or early‑stage product environment. Knowledge of sensor technologies and their role in ADAS/Autonomous Vehicles. Seniority level
