Legal Assistant

plays a key role in supporting paralegals and attorneys and ensuring smooth daily operations. This position involves interpreting for non‑Spanish fluent attorneys, maintaining electronic and physical files, preparing immigration petitions for mailing, and assisting with legal work.

Base pay range:

$20.00/hr - $25.00/hr

Location:

Fairfax, VA; Silver Spring, MD; and Newark, NJ – In‑Office (Reliable transportation required)

Position Overview This is a full‑time, in‑office position at one of our locations with the expectation of daily on‑site presence. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Key Responsibilities

Assist paralegals and attorneys with case preparation and documentation

Prepare and mail immigration petitions and supporting documents

Maintain organized electronic and physical case files

Communicate professionally with clients, including providing interpretation for Spanish‑speaking clients when needed, and assist clients with document collection and final petition preparation

Assist with office tasks and workflow management

Support ongoing projects and initiatives within the firm

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred

Fluent in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking)

Detail‑oriented and highly organized

Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint preferred

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
